Cherry Recipes

Cherry season is, by far, my favorite time of the summer. When I was a child my family would head up to Door County, WI to pick Cherries. This time was the first time in my life that I met people from the Amish Community. I remember staring in romantic wonder at these families, in their interesting outfits, as they worked together to pick the berries from the trees. At that time in my life I was a huge fan of Little House on the Prairie and I envied the simple life these individuals seemed to live. I used to listen in wonder as the women spoke with one another about the different things they would make from the cherries, the gardens they were cultivating and the success of their harvests. Today, I believe these brief experiences I had with these women may be what inspired my love of canning and gardening today.

The following links will take you directly to my step by step directions and recipes for my favorite cherry creations.
